A Girl with a dream becomes a woman with a mission.

I always wanted to do something worthwhile with my life. We all have dreams and ambitions for our lives but often life does not turn out as we expect, at least that's how it went for me. After getting married and having a few kids, I really felt I wasn't living to my potential. Being a mom and wife had its challenges and its rewards and was definitely a huge calling, but I was getting  frustrated with the mundane. Money was tight, bills were high, kids were taking over my life. (I enjoyed that part, just to be clear…my kids rock!) I knew that going back to work was not an option for me. Being a stay at home mom was one of my values that I would not compromise.

Can anyone relate?

What was I to do? Invent something? Build an MLM? Start a business? Trust me, I tried all three, and all 3 helped me build what I have today. A business that gives back, helps people get  involved in our communities, and leaves a legacy to the next generation. This is an opportunity that anyone can benefit from...including you!

I remembered as a young child of maybe 10, I got to go once a week to these sewing classes run by a stay at home mom with 4 young children. I remembered how much we looked forward to that weekly lesson! I decided right then and there that I could make a difference in kids lives too! This was my answer! I would teach a sewing program out of my home and put together a portfolio of projects that kids would LOVE.

I had no idea the demand would be as high as it was but after advertising in the local farmers market, hanging out posters all over town and putting an ad on kijiji, the registrations started pouring in! I had to cap it at 20 students and put the rest on a wait list.

I purchased my machines and got to work!

I have been teaching for 4 years now and know what does and doesn’t work. I have come across some great patterns and some not so great ones. I got creative and put a lot of my own ideas together that the students LOVED and that’s when I thought it would be great to offer these to others.

I also recognize the importance of community. Being an entrepreneur is hard and lonely work. I have therefore put together a program that I believe we can all benefit from! We need each other and together we can be great! Together we can change lives!

Sew Much More is dedicated to the teaching of sewing to others.  It is my goal to inspire the next generation of Seamstresses, Tailors, Mothers and Fathers to love sewing and to appreciate the art which it truly is.
I believe that we can make the world a better place through Teaching and Inspiring each other to Create.
